Since the publication of my new book ‘Along the Southern Boundary: A Marine Police Officer’s Frontline Account of the Vietnamese Boatpeople and their Arrival in Hong Kong’ I have been busy giving book talks and presentations to a number of clubs, bookshops and world famous institutions. Here are some of them:
November 2021: Hong Kong International Literary Festival. This was the second year in a row that my books have resulted in a sold-out event at the LITFEST. Moderated, once more, by journalist Annemarie Evans, I gave a one hour presentation of the new book.
‘Book of the Week’ at Bookazine in Hong Kong in November 2021
Very pleased to be invited to host a book signing and talk at Hong Kong’s premier bookshop, Bookazine, in Prince’s Building in Central, in November 2021. A great turnout and great fun.
A very lively talk and presentation of photographs from Along the Southern Boundary at my favourite pub in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong - Hemingway’s. Moderated once more by Annemarie Evans, this turned out to be a very well received event and Blacksmith Books sold lots of copies.
‘Meet the Authors’ in January 2022. Very honoured to be included with these other five prominent Hong Kong authors.
A talk and presentation at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum
The Royal Geographical Society in February 2022. Shackleton, Scott, Fiennes and now Bird. What an honour to be invited and present and speak to the Society about my new book.
The Nautical Institute invitation in March 2022 was such an honour. I have always admired this maritime body.
